Chorus Auditions

Pacific Opera Victoria is pleased to announce chorus and comprimario role auditions for the 2019/20 season, which will include Puccini's Il trittico and Bizet's Carmen.

The auditions will take place in Wingate Studio at the Baumann Centre (925 Balmoral Rd) on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 2, 2019, 5 to 9 pm
  • Monday, May 6, 2019, 5 to 9 pm

Interested singers are encouraged to send a musical résumé, a recent headshot, and an audition date preference to

Audition confirmation will be communicated via email.

Candidates should prepare two contrasting selections that demonstrate secure musicianship and an aptitude for performance. Although not a requirement, we strongly encourage applicants to memorize their selections and prepare at least one in a language other than English. A pianist will be provided, or you may bring your own.

Once your audition time is confirmed, we ask that you bring the following with you to the audition:

  • A completed Chorus Application Form
  • A musical résumé
  • A recent headshot
  • A music binder with your audition selections for the pianist

Members of the Pacific Opera Chorus receive an honorarium per production, two complimentary tickets to the opening night of the show they are involved in, invitations to special events and receptions, and exclusive access to a curriculum of stagecraft workshops, vocal clinics, individual coachings, and master classes with visiting artists.



Pacific Opera Victoria welcomes inquiries from artists interested in auditioning for Solo Roles, Artist Training Programs, or for a place in the POV Chorus.
