Profoundly touching. Extravagantly melodic.

A courtesan finds true love, generously renounces it, then regains it, only to die far too young. This is Verdi's most personal and compassionate work – the pinnacle of romantic opera.

Sookhyung Park, who won acclaim in the title role of POV's Daphne returns for the demanding role of Violetta. She is joined by tenor Vale Rideout in his POV debut as Alfredo and by baritone Bruce Kelly as Germont.

La traviata is one of the most popular operas EVER – and one that is incredibly rewarding to visit time and time again . Savour the greatest drinking song in the repertoire, lose yourself in Verdi's inexhaustible torrent of melody, and fall in love again as you are drawn into a story that never loses its beauty and pathos.
