Set Designer for The Rake's Progress

Allan Stichbury made his POV debut as set designer for A Masked Ball in 1992. In 2009 he returns to design the set for POV's original production of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress.
Allan Stichbury is a set, lighting and costume designer who has worked for theatres across Canada including both the Stratford and Shaw Festivals. He is the Past President of Associated Designers of Canada, and has exhibited at both the 1995 and 1999 Prague Quadrennials, serving as Canada's commissioner in 1999. Internationally he has designed the lighting for Mr. Lincoln at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C., as well as on Broadway.
He has recently returned from Thailand where, under an Orion Fellowship, he taught at Chulalongkorn University and designed a new Thai play, Sita: Sriram? at The Arts Theatre, Bangkok. His production of Hanuman the Mighty can be seen at the Royal Theatre Bangkok.
Recent productions include The Miracle Worker, Vancouver Playhouse; The Wars, Theatre Calgary and the Vancouver Playhouse; and Of Mice and Men, Theatre Calgary and CanStage. Allan Stichbury has been on faculty at the University of Victoria since 1988.
