Pam has been a professional set designer for 30 years and the principal designer at the Vancouver Playhouse for over 20 seasons.
Her credits for Pacific Opera Victoria include The Pirates of Penzance (1990), Roméo et Juliettte and Madama Butterfly (1991), Die Fledermaus (1992), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1993), La traviata (1994), Macbeth (1995), Don Giovanni (1999), and Regina (2008). She returns in 2011 to design POV's original production of Samuel Barber's Vanessa.
Other opera designs include Salome for Vancouver Opera and, during the 2006-2007 season, Calgary Opera's acclaimed La Cenerentola.
Her shows Mom's the Word, Unhinged and The Number 14 have given her international exposure as they have been performed in New York, London, Tokyo, and Melbourne. Recently Pam designed Queen Leer at Presentation House, Where's Charley? at Studio 58, Moms Revisited for the Arts Club, Love List at the Vancouver Playhouse, and Falstaff and Henry V for Bard on the Beach.
Other Design Credits include 45 productions at the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre, three seasons designing set and costumes at the Shaw Festival, designs for The Globe, Canadian Stage, Magnus, Western Canada, The Citadel, the Belfry Theatre, MTC, Pacific Opera, Vancouver Opera, Touchstone, Tamahnous and The Arts Club Theatre.
She has received seven Jessie Richardson Awards, Interior Design Institute Award, a Capital Critics Award (Ottawa) for Coronation Voyage, and a Monday Magazine Award for outstanding set design for Rough Magic at the Belfry Theatre.
Pam has been an instructor at Studio 58 for the past 23 years. She has taught several workshops with Backstage and the BC Festival of the Arts. She has taught at UBC and has guest lectured at the Hull College of Art and Design in England.
