Mara Gottler makes her Pacific Opera Victoria debut as costume designer for the April 2010 production of Mozart's Così fan tutte.

Since opening The Nightingale and Other Short Fables at the Canadian Opera Company this past season, Mara will continue working with director Robert Lepage at the Festival Aix-en-Provence and the National Opera of Lyons. A five time Jesse Richardson Award winner and three times nominated for the prestigious Siminovitch Prize in Theatre, Mara has had her work displayed at the inaugural World Stage Design Exhibition.

As resident costume designer with Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, she has designed 57 of its productions. Other recent design engagements include the National Arts Centre, Festival TransAmériques, Alberta Theatre Projects, Vancouver Playhouse and the Belfry Theatre.

A design instructor at Langara College's acclaimed theatre school, Studio 58, Mara also creates her own fashion line, maragottlerdesigns, and her clothing has been seen at entertainment events, in national magazines, on Oprah and most recently in New York.
